Rev. Daryl S. Riddick Bio

Reverend Daryl S. Riddick was born on September 20, 1969, to Stanley and Gwendolyn Riddick, in Washington DC.

His family later moved to Clinton, Maryland, where he attended Prince George’s County Public Schools and received his high school diploma. After high school, Reverend Riddick attended Elizabeth City State University on a basketball scholarship where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics. He later enrolled in Cambridge College and received a Master’s Degree in Management.

Reverend Riddick’s spiritual growth and development has its beginning at Grace United Methodist Church in Fort Washington, Maryland. At Grace United Methodist Church Rev. Riddick served as a junior usher and was an active member in the Methodist Youth Fellowship. In 1994, Rev. Riddick and his family joined Meridian Hill Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Calvin E. Cage, Sr. In 1996, Rev. Riddick moved his family from Upper Marlboro, Maryland to Portsmouth, Virginia. While living in Portsmouth, Rev. Riddick joined New Weeping Mary Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. John C. Smith. While at New Weeping Mary he was involved in various ministries: Youth Ministry Director, Chairman of Trustee Ministry, President of Men’s Ministry and Vice Chairman of Christian Education. After working in the various ministries and studying God’s word with Pastor John C. Smith, Rev. Riddick acknowledged the calling God had placed on his life to become a minister. On September 3, 2006, Rev. Riddick preached his initial sermon and was licensed as a Minister of the Gospel.

In November, 2006, Rev. Riddick and his family moved back to Maryland and immediately rejoined Meridian Hill Baptist Church in Washington DC where he was given the opportunity to preach, teach bible study, baptize, serve communion, preach eulogies, and work with Pastor Cage on various day to day ministry tasks. Under the leadership of Pastor Calvin E. Cage, Sr., Rev. Riddick also led Men’s Discipleship and was the point of contact for outreach to neighborhood schools, and eventually became the Assistant to the Pastor, and was ordained in July 2013. After ordination, Rev. Riddick worked with Pastor Cage on a national level with the National Baptist Convention, USA in exhibits and concessions. After years of serving as Assistant Pastor, Rev. Riddick was elevated to Sr. Pastor of Cathedral of Christ Baptist Church in 2019. While serving as pastor of Cathedral of Christ Baptist Church, Rev. Riddick
worked in the community to help empower its people. Ministries such as noon day Bible Study, Thursday Feeding Ministry where upwards of 200 families are fed and the Second Time Around Clothes Closet was a highlight of his pastoral ministry.

In the fall of 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, God’s spiritual intervention brought Rev. Riddick and Pastor Slade together in a mentor relationship during Pastor Slade’s retirement. Not knowing that God was calling the two of them to work together in ministry, after much prayer and upon the approval of the board members of Genesis Covenant Church, along with blessings from Pastor Calvin Cage, Pastor Riddick accepted the call of God to Pastor Genesis Covenant Church alongside Senior Pastor Robert Slade.

Reverend Riddick is married to the former Cheryl A. Dozier and is the proud father of
Kenya, Chanelle, Danyelle and Daryl II (Deuce). Reverend Riddick is a deeply devoted
man of God who is committed to his family and to empowering God’s people. As a
God-chosen minister, his goal is to lead as many people to Christ as possible through
expressions of love and humility. One of Rev. Riddick’s favorite scriptures is Matthew
5:16. “Let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and, glorify
your Father who is in Heaven.”
